Following the success of the Big Outbound Easter Egg Drive by Business Presence and Community & Business Partners, where over £5000 was raised, over 1600 Easter Eggs were given to children across Lancashire in time for them to enjoy over the bank holiday weekend.
Jonathan Finch, Commercial Director at Big Presence, celebrated this huge achievement, “When we first came up with the idea of the Easter Egg Drive, we had hoped to raise enough money to buy 1000 eggs – to have surpassed that is incredible and to see the difference we have made and the smiles on the children’s faces make it all worth it. A big thank you to CBP members and other local organisations that got involved at the fundraising event, and a huge thank you to everyone that donated.”
The fundraising event comprised of a 90-minute outbound and emotional selling workshop by Jonathan Finch, followed by a day on the phones getting in as many donations as possible. The target of £3000 was smashed on the day, with an additional £2000 coming in in the days following the event. But that was just the start of it…
Next on the task list was to find an Easter Egg supplier and having worked together previously, Community & Business Partners reached out to Edwin Booth, Executive Chairman of Booths Supermarket, to purchase over 1600 Easter Eggs and collect these from the Booths Distribution centre in Preston.
Now with 1600 chocolate eggs loaded into the SAMS van and time ticking before the Easter holidays, the mission was to get these eggs into the hands of disadvantaged children across Lancashire. Utilising their local contacts Community & Business Partners arranged for the eggs to be distributed across local schools, including Longshaw Infant & Junior School, Our Ladies,St James’s and Blackburn College, and charities, including Darwen Children’s Centre, Livesey Children’s Centre, ELHT&Me, Care Network, Wish Centre, ARC and Blackburn Youth Zone.
Across the week, Big Presence, Community & Business Partners were joined by attendees of the fundraising event and CBP Members to visit these organisations and hand the Easter Eggs over to beaming children and charity workers.
Jaydee Davis, Managing Director at CBP, said “Through the power of community and the dedication of our incredible team and partners, our Easter Egg Drive has brightened the lives of 1600 children. Each smile a testament to the magic of community and the joy of giving. To our amazing team and invaluable contacts, thank you for making this heartfelt achievement possible."
