The latest National Achievement Rate Tables (NARTs) show B&FC is among England’s highest performing colleges for the sixth year running, ranked fifth out of 172 general further education colleges.
Published by the Department for Education, the National Achievement Rate tables rank colleges by the percentage of qualifications attained by students.
The latest figures cover the 2018-19 academic year and show that B&FC has performed in the top 3% of colleges in England.
The recent Department for Education performance tables also showed B&FC is ranked second in England for improving student success in maths and fifth in England for improved outcomes in English.

“We work closely with employer partners to co-create many of our programmes to ensure that our students develop skills, knowledge and industry practice, giving them the confidence to excel in a broad range of highly skilled, professional careers.”
The NARTs data is used to compare performance between all General Further Education colleges (GFEC) in England.
Blackpool and The Fylde College is judged as Outstanding by Ofsted. Each year approximately 16,000 students choose to study with B&FC on a range of technical and professional programmes.
A founding member of the Chartered Institute for Further Education, B&FC is the only northwest provider approved by the government to deliver all three T Level pathways.
In addition, B&FC received the highest possible gold rating in the government’s higher education Teaching Excellence Framework (TEF).
Student satisfaction at Blackpool at the Fylde College is consistently over 90%, with 97% of students progressing into employment or further study.
