When Bespoke began life in 2006 it offered an original working model, devising a low-risk, but highly complex and cost-effective service delivered for the NHS.
Working with hospitals that could not provide the services for themselves was a novel idea at the time and originally met with resistance, but the results were soon clear. Bespoke began winning contracts based on the efficiency of its service and the quality of its results.Acquiring a private hospital in 2014 allowed the organisation to expand its offer and deliver services to the local population.
It also gave the business a platform to expand its geographical reach - soon winning contracts as far afield as London. However, at the same time that Bespoke was in its ascendancy, the NHS was struggling to operate under tighter and more restrictive budgets. The service was undoubtedly effective, but the NHS simply didn’t have the resources.
That’s when the Bespoke management team revamped its offering and, in 2017, launched a newly developed service which, while retaining the high standard of work, stripped out a majority of the costs. The result was a service which is considerably lower than the standard NHS Tariff. The savings are on such a scale that rather than a net outgoing, trusts and hospitals can now generate income by using Bespoke’s service.
In addition, patients are able to gain access to their tests sooner and consultants receive reports with less delay. This, in turn, means that patients can carry on the next line of treatment more quickly.Today, the company is the leading independent provider of neurophysiology investigations throughout the country.
It is unique in its ability to deliver the full range of neurophysiology services, including IOM (Intraoperative Monitoring) services for complex surgery, such as spinal surgery, neuro and vascular surgery and others outside specialist NHS hospitals.Bespoke also provides consultations and day case surgery for both NHS and private patients at its own facility, the Greater Lancashire Hospital.
