Nelson-based articulated trailer rental and sales firm, Bell Trailers, is celebrating its 25th year in business.
Founded in 1988 by Michael Bell, the company has gone from strength to strength over the last quarter of a century and now boasts a fleet of 1,500 trailers and has 20 employees, including its own team of mobile service engineers.The firm has a six acre site on Lomeshaye Industrial Estate, Nelson, with purpose built offices, a four bay workshop, specialist tyre depot and a VOSA MOT testing station.
Bell Trailers works nationally, with Rental customers including firms such as Norbert Dentressangle, Potter Logistics, H&M Distribution and Matthew Kibble Transport to name a few.When first founded, the business focussed on trailer sales before moving in to the rental market. In 1996 Tom Abernethy joined as a director, bringing with him a wealth of experience within the trailer rental market. Trailer rentals now make up 80% of the company’s business.
Managing director, Michael Bell, believes that dedicated customer service and responsiveness to customer needs is a key factor in their success and longevity. Michael said: “The last 25 years have seen a lot of hard work and dedication from all involved and I am incredibly proud of what we have achieved to date.
