Poulton-le-Fylde based financial planning firm Becketts has walked away with two major awards at the national Money Marketing Awards – NextGen Firm of the Year, as well as the big one – Adviser Firm of the Year.
The awards, ran by financial services magazine Money Marketing, recognises the very best advisers and providers the sector and country has to offer. Several rounds of shortlisting take place before the judges comb through each entry and decide on a winner.
Becketts – a local family firm established in 2004, now led by co-directors Dominic McLoughney and James Thompson - were down in London to collect the award.
The NextGen Firm of the Year award focused on the innovative and modern ways in which financial planning firms went about their business - incorporating business culture, service, training, marketing and technology.
The Advice Firm of the Year award continued the forensic dive into all areas of the business – focusing further on client service, improvements to turnover and profitability, strategic progress, investment solutions, quality of advice and adherence to regulations and due diligence.
Co-director, Dominic McLoughney, son of Becketts co-founder Lorraine McLoughney, exclaimed: “This is one of my proudest working moments… a huge team effort, and an incredible result for a firm of our size. A big well done and thank you to the whole team at Becketts and all of our professional partners”
“We’ve set a goal to be the best small financial planning practice in the U.K. and that is only possible when everyone is totally focused on being the best they can be.”
“Receiving industry recognition on a national scale, for our hard work and commitment in providing our amazing clients with the best planning and wealth management possible, is incredibly rewarding.”
Becketts co-director James Thompson added: “It’s been a massive team effort to get to this point – it’s an amazing result”
The double victory ensures that Becketts closes its "awards season" with their biggest wins to date, having been double category finalists at the Lancashire Red Rose Awards in June, as well as "Family Business of the Year" finalists at the BIBAs last month.
