BAE Systems has announced its latest largest ever intake of trainees, with 341 roles across its Lancashire sites.
The company has announced it will take on 1,250 trainees across the UK. 329 of those will work in the air division across Samlesbury and Warton. 205 will be apprentices and 124 will be graduates.
Twelve more will join the shared services division in Preston: eight apprentices and four graduates.
In total, around 75 per cent of the apprenticeships and more than 50 per cent of the graduate roles are based in the North of England.
Charles Woodburn, chief executive BAE Systems, said: “Getting people back to work and creating high-quality jobs is a national priority. So, it’s more important than ever that those of us who are in a position to do so continue our investment in the UK workforce."
Gavin Williamson, the secretary of state for education, said: "It’s fantastic to see BAE Systems continuing to innovate and invest in apprenticeships giving more people of all ages and backgrounds the chance to progress. I encourage businesses of all sizes to follow their lead, recruiting more apprentices to help take their business to the next level."
