Accrington Stanley’s world class hospitality venue will play host to Accrington Stanley Women’s end of season awards ceremony on Monday 6th May.
Stanley Women currently have 220 players across their club and the ceremony will see players from all age groups receive their awards, following a highly successful season which has included winning the U18 Girls Youth Cup.
The ceremony and activity day will take place in The Venue at Stanley, with food and refreshments to be served in both Coley’s and the 1968 Lounge, and will also see club sponsors including Sundown Solutions and Mount Carmel present awards to the teams they sponsor.
Alongside the awards presentation, Stanley Women will also host a special activity day at the Wham stadium, which will include an open age training session with former England star and now Sky Sports pundit Izzy Christiansen, as well as two 5-a-side games (U12 and U14) and The Red Rose Challenge match between Accrington Stanley Women U16s and Burnley.
Izzy attended Stanley Women’s match against Penrith AFC Ladies at the Wham stadium on Mother’s Day, where she signed autographs and posed for pictures with fans.
There will be plenty of other family fun activities taking place throughout the day including entertainment throughout the evening, as Stanley Women come together to celebrate the 2023/24 season.
Accrington Stanley managing director, David Burgess, said: “We are delighted to be hosting Accrington Stanley Women’s awards ceremony and special activity day here at the Wham stadium.
“The facilities here are perfect for an event like this and we can’t wait to welcome all the players and their families for what will be a great day of celebrations."
Sami Smithson, chair of Accrington Stanley Women, said: “We would like to say a huge thank you to David and his team for hosting our awards ceremony.
“It is one of the highlights of the year, and what better place to host it than at the incredible Venue at Stanley here at the Wham stadium. We have got so many exciting activities taking place throughout the day and we are looking forward to welcoming everyone on the day, including our very special guest Izzy Christiansen.”
