Apprenticeships at Preston’s College

Over the years, Preston’s College has worked hard to help bridge the gap between education and industry. We engage with businesses in the development of your training services to ultimately ensure a positive return on investment.

Led by a team of experts, the ultimate aim is to provide the most employable workforce through apprenticeships, bespoke training, CPD programmes and higher education courses.

With a dedicated team of apprenticeship training officers for each sector, we will ensure you are listened to, that your needs are assessed and the very best value for money solution is offered to you.

Apprenticeships

Preston’s College offers training from Level 2 up to HND Level across a range of sectors. We offer apprenticeship training to both new recruits and existing staff.

CPD and professional courses

We offer a wide range of industry specific training, from courses delivered in the workplace to short courses to develop specialist skills in order to meet legislation and comply with industry requirements.

Bespoke training

Our bespoke programmes are tailored to meet the exact training needs of your business. Whether it’s a specialist area, higher-level skills or a refresher course, our team will support you to ensure you get the most out of your bespoke training.

Case study: Roccia

Preston’s College has joined forces with the largest independent tiling supplier in the north of England, Roccia, to create a new Tiling Centre of Excellence for apprentices and employers.

The partnership sees the Preston-based retailer team up with Preston’s College to provide bespoke training for Level 2 Wall and Floor Tiling apprentices.

The partnership has been developed to help bridge the skills gap between education and industry following a shortage of trained young people progressing in the tiling industry.

To kick-start the centre of excellence, Roccia has recruited six new local apprentices over the two year programme.

To help benefit the local economy, any other wall or floor tiling specialist looking to recruit a Level 2 tiling apprentice can also receive their training on a day release basis alongside Roccia’s recruits.
