On Thursday 10th November, North West law firm Farleys Solicitors hosted their annual Christmas shopping evening to raise funds for CancerHelp Preston.
The event took place at Preston Golf Club and welcomed around 80 guests to browse a variety of stalls and enjoy a hot pot supper supplied by Hot Pot Heaven. Stallholder included Sunday Best, Raffia, Tropics, The Cheese Counter, Whalley Wine Shop, Tranquillity Holistic Therapies, DP Silver, Heavenly Cakes, and PGC Shop.
The funds from all ticket sales, as well as money raised through raffle tickets and a percentage of stallholder profits on the night raised a total of over £1,800.
CancerHelp Preston is taking part in the Big Give’s Christmas Campaign which sees donations of up to £3,000 match-funded when they are donated between the 29th November and the 6th December so the charity will receive £3,779.40 in total from this event.
Antonia Love, family law partner at Farleys commented: “We have been holding this event in aid of CancerHelp for several years now and it is always well-attended, allowing us to raise tens of thousands of pounds for the charity up to now.
"I would like to thank everyone who supported our fundraising efforts this year; particularly our guests and stallholders. Without their generous donations, we wouldn’t be able to send these funds to CancerHelp to assist them in the vital services they offer to cancer patients and their families in the Preston and Garstang area.”
General manager at CancerHelp, Jeanette Smalley said: “The Christmas Shopping evening was a once again a lovely relaxed evening with a range of quality stalls which meant there was a chance to get our Christmas shopping off to a good start. The cakes won't make it to Christmas, nor will the cheese at our house! These events are so important to us as we have an unprecedented demand for our services which is not slowing down.”
“If you are looking for a local independent charity to support please think about CancerHelp be that having a few hours to volunteer, donating items to support our charity shops we welcome any support.”
