Charity run Anderton Centre recently invested in some new buoyancy aids for use at their outdoor centre.
Based on the stunning Rivington reservoir, the centre delivers a huge range of outdoor activities including sailing, kayaking, archery, orienteering, mountain biking and abseiling to school children, youth groups, professional business people undertaking team building activities, as well as for Duke of Edinburgh expeditions.Buoyancy aids are an essential part of the safety equipment provided by the Anderton Centre and they were keen in investing in new kit which was of the highest quality. Cornwall based waterproof clothing and technical gear specialists, Nookie, were selected for this investment.
George Shannon, operations manager from the Anderton Centre, said: “With around 25,000 people using our facilities during the course of a year, we need to ensure all the equipment provide is hard wearing, versatile and easy to use. We were thrilled with the range of options Nookie offered as well as their supportive and professional approach. In fact they went even further and branded our buoyancy aids free of charge, which we’re absolutely delighted with. Not only are they robust and protective, they look great too! We had a compass mentoring group in recently and they were very impressed with them.”As well as working with schools, youth groups and business professionals, the Anderton Centre runs a range open access events where the public can register to use their fantastic facilities and take part in a wide range of activities. Those that want to extend their stay can even make use of the extensive residential facilities available at the centre.
