Preston based Altius Group Limited, a leading UK business broker, has announced its partnership with local charity, Luv Preston.
With the mission ‘to love and serve the city of Preston’ the charity provides care and support to citizens who are broken, disconnected, marginalised or live in poverty. Luv Preston is committed to providing help and friendship to those in Preston who find themselves at a disadvantage.
Altius staff recently selected Luv Preston as their chosen charity and have been donating items for the Luv Preston food bank. On the back of this support, the company decided to make a formal commitment to Luv Preston by becoming a Partner.
Founders of Luv Preston, Jack & Sue McVicar said: “Food poverty is increasing in our city and donations from the staff at Altius to our Food Bank are really appreciated. Our team of volunteers deliver weekly food parcels to those in need of emergency provisions and we work with people to help them find longer term solutions. We also run a ‘drop-in’ each week, serving 90-100 people with a hot meal and food to take away.
"We recently launched our Partner programme to encourage regular, long term support from local businesses and we are delighted to welcome Altius Group as a Partner. We are hopeful for other businesses in Preston to come on board too.”
Teresa Deeney, head of marketing at Altius Group, added: “At Altius we recognise the important contribution we can make in our local community. It’s clear that Luv Preston play a vital role in supporting the disadvantaged in our city and the team here at Altius were keen to contribute to the charity.
"Altius Group see the Partnership with Luv Preston as a really positive step and we hope our involvement with the charity will inspire more local businesses to get involved in whatever way they can.”
