Agenda announced for Lancashire Business Week

28 Oct 2020

A series of five themes will underpin the programme of Lancashire Business Week events, which aim to both champion the county’s successes to date and plot its post-coronavirus future.

This is the fourth year that Lancashire Business View has organised a celebration of Lancashire Business Day, but for the first time it has scheduled a full week of activities, running between Monday 23 November and Lancashire Business Day itself, Friday 27 November.

The events will be held online and anyone holding an interest in business and the local economy is welcome to join in and participate. The week is designed for attendees to be able to meet and network with other businesses, be inspired by great stories and celebrate all that is great about the red rose county.

Events will feature expert panellists and guest speakers who will inspire, inform and educate on a variety of topics.

From Monday to Thursday, November 23 to 26, Lancashire Business View will hold a series of 45-minute Breakfast Blasts beginning at 9am.

And on #LancashireDay itself, Friday 27 November, the week will draw to a close with a lunchtime roundtable discussion including questions posed by readers and viewers, then conclude with a finale featuring some very special guests.

Monday’s event will focus on the county’s Opportunities and Challenges during and beyond the Covid-19 pandemic.

Tuesday will take a look at the wider Jobs and Skills picture, and Wednesday will take a look within workforces and discuss Wellbeing and Inclusivity.

Thursday’s events will cover Leadership and Change, and Friday will round off the week with Celebration and Aspiration a positive look at the county’s achievements to date and its aspirations for the months and years ahead.

Steve Fogg, chairman of the Lancashire Enterprise Partnership, has confirmed his participation, and more names will be revealed as the clock counts down to the week itself.

Lancashire Business Week is backed by a cohort Patrons from around the county.

They are: Advanced Manufacturing Research Centre (AMRC), Beever and Struthers, Burnley.co.uk, Burnley College, FW Capital, IN4.0 Group, Lancashire 2025 and PDS Engineering.

Utiligroup is a supporter and media partners are Downtown in Business, Lancaster and District Chamber of Commerce and lovelocalnetworking.

Richard Slater, publisher of Lancashire Business View and organiser of Lancashire Business Week, said: “We have been celebrating Lancashire Day with the business community for several years and 2020 - as extraordinary as it is - will be no exception.

“But rather than gather on just one night, this year we are expanding our programme into a week of online events. We have compiled a fantastic set of debates, discussions and guest speakers, and of course there will be opportunity to network, share stories and celebrate, too.”

Richard added: “We have plenty more details to be revealed - including some high-profile guests - and can’t wait to share the details over the coming weeks.”
