New Year, New Shop. There seems to be no slowing down for the Lancashire based charity as they announce plans to open a new retail shop in Cleveleys marking the first of its services on to the Fylde Coast. The established charity, who in 1981 began providing services to help people live well and age well in Preston, has since expanded throughout Central Lancashire and now on to the Fylde Coast.
Head of retail, Bel Fry, commented: “Cleveleys has a well-known high street with some big names. We are proud to be joining some already successful charity shops in the area as we aim to deliver more than just another Charity Shop.”
Amassed over nearly 40 years the charity has tonnes of experience in providing specialist services that truly make a difference to vulnerable people, their families and carers. Suzanne Carr, CEO of Age Concern supports growth and told us why opening this new shop is important to expanding services.
“We aren’t opening just another Charity shop in Cleveleys we are also bringing in services that we have successfully delivered in Central Lancashire for many years. Inside our shop, we will have a private consultation room where advice clinics, information and support sessions and Wills appointment will be held on a regular basis. We are making these services accessible to the local community.”
From Friday 17th January Age Concern, partnered with McClure Solicitors, will be providing FREE Will and Will Review Clinics from the shop every week. These clinics along with other advice sessions, such as Lasting Powers of Attorney and inheritance tax advice, will be available to book online through Age Concern’s new website www.ageisjustanumber.org.uk/wills/ or by calling 01772 552850 (option 6).
Last year Age Concern’s retail shops saved 62 tonnes of preloved items going into landfills, provided hundreds of volunteering hours for people wanting to give something back, make friends or build new networks and generated thousands of pounds of income that went directly back into Age Concerns award winning services such as dementia, befriending and access to benefits.
Keep up to date with Age Concern and the opening of its new shop by befriending them on social media. #ageisjustanumber. If you would like to volunteer with Age Concern please visit our website or call us on 01772 552865
