Andrew Porter Ltd, headquartered in Adlington, Lancashire, is excited to be completing its most recent expansion with the arrival of 60 20 ft storage containers at its Kendal, Mintsfeet site. This is extremely exciting for the local community as it is the first facility of its kind in Kendal centre.
The company has continued to grow since it arrived in Kendal, and this is their fifth development driven by the demand from their customers, both domestic and commercial. This recent growth has enabled them to employ a new member of the team, storage coordinator Carol Hetherington.
Carol commented: “It’s an exciting time to join the local company, and I look forward to being a part of their success and meeting our customers over the next few months and beyond."
Andrew Porter Ltd has invested in the Mintsfleet site installing a new 24/7 CCTV security system, and a 24/7 key fob access system to make it secure, safe and ready for its new customers.
Their brand new, 20 ft outdoor containers are in their secure, floodlit, concrete yard area and all have drive-up access. They are ideal for small business owners to store stock, local tradespeople and online retailers they have already had a number of local companies reserve units before they had even arrived on site. Mintsfeet’s location also offers convenient access to the M6.
Last year, the company's fourth expansion saw them acquire their Dockray Hall site, also located in Kendal, which is home to 57 secure, airflow, temperature-controlled indoor self storage units ranging from 15 sq ft to 150 sq ft. This brings their total number of self storage units in Kendal to 195 in addition to their 200 indoor and 25 outdoor containers in Adlington.
Manager Stephen Gregson, who has overseen these development plans, said: “Our first customers are ready to move in and seeing the containers arriving on-site has bought the last few months of hard work to life! I am sure that these will be full before we know it, and we’ll be planning our sixth and seventh expansion before we know it.”
Tim Aspey, managing director of Andrew Porter Ltd, commented: “The UK is experiencing a storage shortage, therefore as a company, we’ve been incredibly lucky to be able to grow and fulfil the demands domestically and commercially and be part of the solution. It’s also great to be providing the local Kendal and Cumbria community with a new facility for small businesses.”
