handl Group has acquired two specialist businesses for its health and wellbeing division.
Paediatric Specialist Physiotherapy (PSP), which works with children, and Osiris Health, which works with adults, both specialise in spasticity management.
They are pioneering specialist neuro rehab treatment options using botulinum toxins, and are growing fast as a result of the demand for their expertise.
The handl Group is an investor which acquires promising businesses and provides the expertise and support to help them innovate and growth.
The two new acquisitions join the handl portfolio alongside existing neuro rehabilitation experts including Reach and Mind Right. The brands will work together to further develop their service, deliver better value and improve outcomes for patients.
PSP’s Peter Sanderson will remain with the business as a clinical services director, providing his expertise and experience to the wider health and wellbeing division.
He is an opinion leader in the field of spasticity and an honorary senior lecturer in neuro rehabilitation at the University of Central Lancashire and has worked within both the public and private sectors and been a national, European and international advisor on spasticity management.
Peter said: "I’d been exploring the opportunity to make PSP and Osiris Health a part of the handl Group for some time, and I’d built a great working relationship with Dan and the team.
"As clinical services director, I’ll be able to continue the work we’ve started, keep the health and wellbeing division’s vision aligned, and ensure that more patients than ever before have access to industry-leading clinical interventions and treatment."
Dan Franklin, chief strategy officer at handl, said: "When we saw the opportunity to help PSP and Osiris Health scale up as part of our portfolio and meet their - and our - growing demands for specialist rehabilitation it was a simple decision to make."
