Accrington Stanley will host a trio of pre-season friendlies at the Wham Stadium this month, starting on Saturday 6th July when Blackburn Rovers come to town.
The match, which marks captain Seamus Conneely’s testimonial and kicks off at 2pm, is expected to see large crowds visiting the Wham stadium, with the same fixture last pre-season proving to be a sell-out. Please note that this game will now be played as one 90-minute match.
Just a week later and John Doolan’s side will welcome Wigan Athletic to the Wham Stadium on Saturday 13th July. That fixture will be split into two 60-minute matches, with the first getting underway at 2pm, and the second approximately from 3:20pm.
Completing Stanley’s home pre-season games will be League One outfit Barnsley, with the Tykes visiting Accrington on Saturday 20th July for a 3pm kick-off, a match which will also serve as Sean McConville’s testimonial.
Tickets for all three of those games are now available to purchase via the club’s retail shop (10am-4pm, Mon-Fri) and online here: https://www.venuetoolbox.com/AccringtonStanley/ASP/bookTickets.asp
Pre-season fixture posters are also being displayed around the town to encourage fans to come and celebrate the start of the new season.
John Doolan, First Team Manager of Accrington Stanley, said: “We are really looking forward to some exciting tests here at the Wham Stadium over the next few weeks.
“Each of our opponents will provide different tests for us and it will be exactly what we need at this stage of pre-season.
“The pitch is looking as immaculate as ever and it will be fantastic to be back playing in front of our fans for what will be three great occasions, including two very special testimonials.”
Stanley will also take on Clitheroe (27th July) and Lancaster City (3rd August) in further pre-season games, both of which will be played away from home.
