Fans and members of the community are invited to submit applications to join the board before 30 November 2011.
Ilyas Khan, the chairman who has propped up the club in recent years, said: “The slow but steady change in the governance of the club is very pleasing. It’s only right and proper that our board should now be extended to include a fan to further increase links between the community, the fans and the club as a whole.”
Rob Heys, chief executive, added: “Anyone who believes that they can add value to the board should write to me with a letter explaining their background and why they believe they should be considered - all fans above the age of 18 are welcome to apply. We will aim to invite short listed candidates for an interview during December and early January.”
The club is currently offering a 9,999 ‘shares’ in the club at £100 aimed at raising £1million. Shares will give supporters one vote per share owned at future AGMs. The share issue will be officially launched ahead of Friday’s game with Cheltenham Town.
