Amazing Accrington has announced a 50 per cent stall discount until 28th February for all Lancashire businesses attending the 2023 Accrington Food Festival, as Accrington gets ready to celebrate all things Lancashire produce from 2nd – 3rd June.
The food festival headlines a sensational weekend of events in Accrington, starting with a continental market on Broadway on Friday 2nd June including a wide range of food and crafts.
On Saturday 3rd June the food festival will return with local, regional and international food stalls, a main stage including TV star Molly Robbins, a wonderful display of local Lancashire produce including inside Accrington Market, and a sensational war re-enactment which could feature an exciting twist this year with a flypast having been requested.
Murray Dawson, chair of Amazing Accrington, said: “We hosted the 2022 Christmas Light Switch On and the 2022 Soapbox Challenge, and the feedback we received from local businesses was that it was the busiest that they had ever seen the Town and we focussed on local food businesses. We believe we can better that at the 2023 Accrington Food Festival and a Lancaster WWII plane flyover has been requested this year as part of the D-Day Commemorations.”
“We are delighted to announce that TV’s Netflix star, award winning cake artist and celebrity chef Molly Robbins will be back on main stage after enjoying it so much last year, as will fantastic local business The Crafty Fox, who wowed the crowds last year and said there outlet was fully booked on the day. Stay tuned for more announcements on the main stage.
“Local businesses are integral to what we do and we hope by offering this discount, it will encourage more to sign up and come and join us for what will be a wonderful weekend in the Town. We can only have so many stalls in one section, so it’s first come first served on this special offer.”
Miles Parkinson, leader of Hyndburn Borough Council, added: “#AmazingAccrington are hosting the Accrington Food Festival for the eighth time in 2023 and we can’t wait for another amazing event.
“This is a fantastic offer and a wonderful opportunity to sell your products to a large number of people in the Town centre, making new customers along the way. We want people to shop local and use the Town centre!”
Sara Britcliffe, MP for Hyndburn and Haslingden, said: “Last year I took part in a Café Rene sketch outside St James’ Church and I can’t wait to see what #AmazingAccrington have lined up for me this year.”
Coun Marlene Howarth, deputy leader of Hyndburn Borough Council, commented: “Our local shops from Great Harwood, Oswaldtwistle and our other townships can be involved and make money at the food festival by taking up this great early bird offer.”
