A firm of accountants and business advisers is giving clients a Christmas greeting with a difference by creating and starring in a pop video.
Haslingden-based Cassons has become well known for its unique approach to Christmas and hope the video, a parody of the 1999 Lou Bega hit Mambo No. 5, will bring a seasonal smile to the faces of their clients and friends across the world.
Les Nutter, managing partner at Cassons, said: “Over the last 10 years Cassons’ Christmas greetings have become something of a tradition for our people and clients alike – we like to do something fun and outside of what is normally expected from accountants.
“This is the fifth Christmas video we’ve filmed, so it seemed appropriate to do Cassons’ own version of Mambo No. 5. We’ve rewritten the lyrics of the song to make it very personal to us. The lyrics reference the work we do for our clients and they also match team members’ hidden talents, many of which were discovered at the firm’s Christmas party! Although you may not guess it, virtually all of the filming took place at our Lancashire office.”
Cassons became an internet sensation two years ago when their ‘Holding Out for a Hero’ video, which showed the firm saving a client from a mountain of paperwork, attracted over 10,000 views worldwide.
Audit and accounts senior Simon Read, whose first day at Cassons in 2014 coincided with the filming of last year’s Christmas video, said: “It was a bit of a shock when I arrived to start work at Cassons 12 months ago and found the staff were making a Christmas video.”
Filmed over three days by Shooters Media based in Oswaldtwistle, the production features the vocals of Blackburn musician Bryony Hamer, and the acting talents of Manchester’s Gemma Hepworth who plays the role of the singer. Cassons’ previous Christmas videos are available on You Tube and the Christmas channel at Cassons TV.
