The results of the highly coveted awards were announced at a special black tie dinner held at the Imperial Hotel in Blackpool.
The theme of the evening was 'celebrating success', and the awards dinner included an inspiring keynote address by Olympic legend Roger Black MBE, who shared his winning formula and Olympic success story.
ICAEW national president, Mark Spofforth, father of Olympic swimmer Gemma, also spoke about the parallels between success in the sporting arena and success in the business world.
Les Nutter president of the North West Society of Chartered Accountants, and managing partner at Cassons chartered accountants, said: “What really stood out to me was how dedicated the business owners were to achieving success – but not solely for themselves, for the benefit of their workforces and their communities.
“In addition, the resources being channelled into training programmes and support for apprentices has been exemplary, and I applaud them for that.”
