Businesses across Lancashire are set to unzip their digital and creative potential at a new expo that is taking the fear out of technology.
More than 60 experts will be on hand at Blackpool Digital Expo on Friday, March 18, at Village Urban Resort Blackpool, where 500 visitors are expected to attend to learn how to future proof their businesses. The free event has been organised by Nichola Howard, from Launch Events NW, who held the successful Blackpool Expo last year at the same venue.
This year she wanted to put a different twist on the expo to reflect how businesses are having to think about new ways to market themselves. She said: “The event aims to bring the tech and creative savvy together in one room with those technophobes, like myself, who would like to embrace the changing times to make sure they are doing their best for their businesses but don’t know how.
“The expo will educate our visitors on the benefits of using technology in their businesses and showcase the great support and advice that is out there.“What I have learnt, organising the event, is that there is no point in doing something, just because everyone else is doing it, it might not be the right platform for you, but there are many options to explore from social media to direct mailing and gamification.”
The day kick starts with a networking breakfast from 8am until 9.30am, with internationally renowned digital and creative expert, Jeff Coghlan, for which tickets can be bought. This is followed by the exhibition, which is free to attend, from 9.30am until 3pm, with seminars in the morning and afternoon as well as business expert stalls.
In the afternoon, there will be also be a ‘Digital Debate’ with a panel of experts at 1.30pm and there are opportunities to book a ten-minute one-to-one session with a digital, creative or media specialist.Blackpool Council will be attending the event and want businesses across Lancashire to tap into the knowledge that will be on offer.
David Slater, Business Growth Manager, Economic Development, Blackpool Council, said: “It will be a great event to help businesses embrace creative ideas and new technologies, the face of business is changing and experts will be on hand to support them in not getting left behind in the digital world and inspire success.” Exhibitor spaces are selling fast so if you are in the creative, digital or media industries and would like to showcase your business get in touch.
