Trevor Dawson Charity Golf Day was back with a vengeance after two years’ absence, and what a day for raising funds for the magnificent Blackburn Youth Zone.
21 corporate teams drove off in brilliant sunshine at Clitheroe Golf Club. The course was in excellent condition producing great scoring, with the overall winners being K2 Storage Solutions posting a score of 93 points, with Simca Investments Limited in second and WHN Solicitors in third.
After the golf, drinks on the patio were followed by dinner prior to the presentation and auction, with prizes kindly being donated by Pierce Accountants, Brand Interiors, Latitude Gallery, Mere, Stonyhurst Park and Clitheroe Golf Clubs and the Freemasons at Wiswell.
Guests were welcomed by Wayne Wild from Blackburn with Darwen Youth Zone, and a poignant speech was made by Youth Zone Member Ummaih Shah, who recounted her growing confidence in being part of the Youth Zone.
Caroline James, managing director of Trevor Dawson, commented: “We were delighted once again to support Blackburn Youth Zone for the eighth time and have added a further £6,000 to the total raised over eight years of almost £50,000. The buzz in the room was especially pleasing and it was great to see everybody back to normal proceedings after an interesting two years. Roll on 2023!”
Wayne Wild, a trustee of Blackburn Youth Zone and Youth Zone Darwen, said, “Thank you to Caroline James from Trevor Dawson and Sarah Clemson from Latitude Studios for organising such a terrific fundraising event - we are very grateful for your support. The event brought 21 businesses together who could network and enjoy the weather on the Clitheroe Golf course. We are very thankful to the local business community, who come together to raise funds to invest in the next generation.”
