A £28.5m, 10.5-hectare development is set to be built adjacent to the Chorley's new Strawberry Fields digital hub.
Planning permission has been granted for the development, which will consist of 122 two, three and four-bedroom family houses.
The homes will be built by the Trafford Housing Trust under the Laurus Homes brand.
Graeme Scott, development director at Trafford Housing Trust, said: “This Euxton Road site meaningfully responds to housing needs in Chorley by providing a range of homes for various tenures to meet the needs of those on different incomes. Fifty per cent of the homes will be available for shared ownership and affordable rent.
“Trafford Housing Trust’s profit for purpose model means any profits generated by our activity are reinvested in our social objectives, which include providing affordable housing, tackling poverty, providing employment and creating training opportunities.”
Trafford Housing Trust has committed to including mature and semi-mature planting to the boundary. Financial contributions are also being provided to cover playing pitches, public open space and play areas locally. In addition, the scheme will be liable for the Community Infrastructure Levy, which will fund educational facilities amongst other things in the vicinity.
Work will start on site in Spring 2020. The designated contractor is Seddon and the planning agent is Euan Kellie Property Solutions.
