More than 40 local businesses came together to support the 10th Annual Blackburn & Darwen Youth Zone Quiz organised by Cummins Mellor on November 21.
The 10th BDYZ Quiz was hosted at Accrington Stanley where the room & food was once again generously donated free of charge by the club.
A combination of team and raffle ticket sales saw the event raise £16,570 for the Employability Hub at Blackburn & Darwen Youth Zone, which has helped over 1000 young people in Blackburn with Darwen overcome barriers to education, employment or training.
The quiz ended with a tense tiebreaker between Staci and Graham & Brown.
It was difficult to separate the two teams but eventually Graham & Brown emerged as overall winners for 2024.
Cummins Mellor is a patron for Blackburn & Darwen Youth Zones and collectively over the last 10 years, their events have raised over £100,000 for the youth charity.
Chief commercial officer at Cummins Mellor, Andy Gardner said: “We’re incredibly proud to be a patron of the Youth Zone and take our role very seriously, as you can tell from the phenomenal amount we have raised over the last 10 years.
"Every single person involved from the Cummins Mellor Family of Businesses played their part in an incredible event and did themselves, the Youth Zone and the company proud.
"It amazes me how easy the team make it look, from our incredible table hosts making it run like clockwork to the back of house team, collating scores in real time and reconciling raffle ticket purchases.”
