About

Lancashire Innovation Festival is a week-long showcase of all thing’s innovation across the county.

This exciting event:

  • Demonstrates how Lancashire businesses engage with innovation.
  • Attracts businesses from outside the region and encourages them to invest in Lancashire.

Where and how?

This year’s event will see audiences participate in a mix of virtual discussions, seminars and networking, alongside live-in-person activity. The core content will take place at five different locations across the county including Fraser House in Lancaster, Energy HQ at Blackpool and the Fylde College, Blackburn Youth Zone, The EIC at UCLan and the AMRC. We’re also inviting anyone from the county’s innovation community to deliver their own events during the course of the week.

Event themes

Key themes of this year’s event include digital, health, low carbon, manufacturing and social innovation. We’ll be investigating a range of cross cutting themes including emerging technologies, growth challenges, product development, skills and business support.

Why innovate in Lancashire?

Lancashire itself is home to leading global businesses at the cutting edge of innovation in advanced manufacturing, supported by a supply chain cluster of high-tech small and medium-size enterprises. The county’s longstanding strengths in aerospace, automotive, and energy industries sit alongside emerging strengths in sectors such as digital and applied healthcare. Our globally recognised universities and further education providers, working closely with National Centres of research excellence and knowledge transfer partnerships, our pre-eminence in deep thinking, track record in developing new solutions to the world’s ever-changing challenges, give us crucial competitive advantages.
