After an enforced break, Lancashire Business View will once again bring the business community together to celebrate #LancashireDay.
This unique event will take place on the afternoon of Friday November 25 in the newly refurbished Accrington Stanley 1968 Lounge.
Speakers confirmed so far:
Rachel Brown-Finnis
Former England goalkeeper
Rachel represented England more than 80 times as a goalkeeper, including appearances at the Women’s World Cup and Euros.
At a club level, she played for top WSL sides Liverpool and Everton having started her career with Accrington Stanley.
Rachel is now a media pundit and an ambassador for University Campus of Football Business (UCFB).
Peter Ahrens
Managing director, Leyland Trucks
Peter joined PACCAR, the global leader in truck design and manufacture, in 2011 as a design engineer at Kenworth Truck Company in the US. He has worked in roles spanning engineering, operations, sales, and marketing. Peter joined Leyland Trucks, owned by PACCAR, as managing director in 2022.
Sandra Cottam-Shea
Managing director, SCS Logistics
Sandra held a whole host of roles in the care and travel industry before starting SCS logistics.
SCS started with three vehicles and five members of staff and 11 years on operates across Europe and has a turnover in the region on £3.5million.
George Critchley
Chairman, True Bearing Chartered Financial Planners
Preston-born, George formed True Bearing Chartered Financial Serivces in 2003 after advising clients, managing advisers and owning a previous IFA firm. The business has grown to a team of 85 with a turnover in excess of £10 million and now has £1 billion of assets under management on behalf of their clients.
Simon Entwistle
Top Hat Tours
Named as Lancashire tourism star in 2012 and 2018, Simon is a Lancashire historian, tour guide and consummate storyteller. He runs popular events in the towns and cities of the north.
Simon will provide the official Lancashire Day proclamation at the event.
Ram Gupta
Managing director, Nybble.co.uk
Ram is managing director of Nybble.co.uk, an IT support services business based in Blackburn which he started in 1998.
He is governor at Blackburn College and a patron of Blackburn Youth Zone and his charitable activities include getting involved and leading fundraisers of all sizes, donating equipment to those in need and providing job opportunities to homeless people. This led to his recent win at the Blackburn with Darwen Hive Awards where he took how the Arte et Labore Award for his commitment to the local area.
Launched in 2017, #LancashireBusinessDay switched to a series of online events during the pandemic but is now back as an in-person celebration.
The event will feature special guests, great food, entertainment and an invitation (entirely optional) to stay after the event to watch England take on the USA in the World Cup on the big screens in Coley’s Bar which kicks off at 7pm.
At the heart of the day will be stories of inspiration, tales of transformation and grabbing opportunity from adversity.
