Aimed at legal professionals, our financial planning team is hosting a Court of Protection seminar with guest speakers, Mathieu Culverhouse and Saoirse de Bont from Irwin Mitchell.
With over 15 years of experience, Mathieu acts on cases representing the Official Solicitor, Independent Mental Capacity Advocates (IMCAs), and the families of vulnerable adults in the Court of Protection under the Mental Capacity Act. He is also a founding member and national committee member of the Court of Protection Practitioners Association (CoPPA).
Saoirse acts on behalf of vulnerable adults and their families in Court of Protection matters, particularly in relation to disputes regarding capacity and best interest. She regularly helps people challenge decisions made by public bodies, including local authorities and the NHS.
During the seminar, a number of topical issues will be covered, including:
- Navigating challenging clients or their families, including challenging behaviour
- Sexual consent and access to sex
- Drug and alcohol issues
