The event, held at Blackburn Cathedral, was organised by Blackburn with Darwen Borough Council’s New Directions team with support from Blackburn College, Cummins Mellor and the Department of Work and Pensions.
Students from schools including Blackburn Central High School, Queen Elizabeth's Grammar School and Pleckgate High School, attended the event - as well as other residents outside of education seeking opportunities.Attendees had the opportunity to speak to potential employers ranging from Big Bear Confectionery and Euro Garages, to East Lancashire Hospitals NHS Trust.
Michelle Mellor, managing director of Cummins Mellor, said: “This event plays a huge role in joining the world of businesses with education and job seekers for the mutual benefit of all concerned. "We want to open the eyes of the people in our county to the great opportunities which are available to them both in education and employment."
