A one million sq ft plot at Whitebirk, Blackburn, has been acquired by rapidly growing forecourt giant EuroGarages.
Hyndburn Borough Council had issued planning permission in October last year for a hotel and leisure space.
Coun Miles Parkinson told the Lancashire Telegraph: “I’m extremely pleased that a firm based in the local area which has come from such a small beginning has taken on this site.
The land is part of a wider development, Frontier Park, which is planned to transform an 85-acre site adjacent to Junction 6 of the M65 into a significant new economic hub in the heart of Lancashire. As part of Lancashire’s Strategic Economic Plan, it aims to realise the enormous economic potential of this part of the UK. In total, the Economic Plan identifies the potential for East Lancashire to generate almost 10,000 jobs and over £500m for the local economy through key employment sites such as Frontier Park.
